5 MUST DO HIKES IN QUÉBEC


Mount Andante, Jacques-Cartier National Park

The Jaques-Cartier valley is a must see in terms of beautiful views when it comes to hiking in Quebec. Many people come from all around in order to see this valley, especially in color season. This historic trail offers secluded regions, amazing views, and chances to spot local wildlife. The Scotora trail will be the trail that leads to the peak.

Length: 16.7 km




Tour of Mount Albert, Gaspésie National Park

One of the craziest hikes in Quebec in terms of uniqueness. It is the highest peak in the province sitting at an altitude of 1,151 meters. The Chic-Choc mountain range is known to be an awesome wilderness playground packed with skiing, skidoo-ing, mountain biking, hiking and more, and Mount Albert is a part of it. Known to be the powder capitol of the east, the winter proves to be an amazing thing to witness. Thee hike itself is difficult but offers an amazing view once achieved the highest point of the loop.

Expected elevation gain: 1,101 m

Length: 20.4 km





White Mountain, Saguenay Fjord National Park

This is an action-packed hike with variations of trails. The trail will lead you along lakes, rivers, and wild cliffs, not to mention an amazing 360-degree view of mountains and a beautiful view of the Saguenay Fjord. The main trail that consists of 12.4 km has been said to offer moose and peregrine falcon sightings, and if gone further up the 41 km fjord trail linking to Tadoussac, you could even find seals and beluga whales. Rated as an intermediate to expert hike, it isn’t considered to be overly difficult allowing a wide range of people to be able to do it.

Emerald falls Rivers Trail, Percé

Located in Percé, Gaspésie, is an iconic spot and a must see among Quebec travelers. Named after the color of the water, this crystal-like river provides and awesome chilling spot at the bottom of a waterfall with icy, refreshing water. Super easy hike that almost anyone can do, you can go for a 2 km hike or a 9.5 km hike along the river, choice is yours.

Estimated elevation gain: 161 m

Length: up to 9.5 km





Pingualuit Crater, Nunavik

If you’re looking for a true north adventure, this is it. In order to complete this hike you have to fly with a dedicated Inuit guided group into Nunavik. Nunavik is a region spanning the top 1/3 of Quebec. The hike is very difficult and very secluded, taking all day to get to the viewpoint, which is worth it. It’s a perfectly circular lake with crystal clear-blue water that was formed by a meteorite approximately 1.4 million years ago. This amazing place also offers potential views of the northern lights!

Length: approximately 17 km
