GEAR REVIEW #2

Updated: Oct 2, 2021

1. White Maple x PW Hatchet

Hand forged and carved from trees on his land, Peter Woodland crafted this extraordinary, multi-use Hatchet. Big enough for robust Logs but handy enough to carve small pieces and make kindling. Heavy duty, yet small enough to fit on your pack, this tool is a must have for bushcraft, safety tool, or casual campfires.

Price: CAD$300.00 – $320.00

2. Yeti Tumbler

The Rambler® 295 ml Lowball is the ideal drinking companion. The Lowball’s double-wall vacuum insulation will keep your hot drinks hot, and your cold drinks cold longer than standard drinkware. Enjoy your evening whiskey by the fire, and refill with coffee the next morning. I’ve used this over a few years now and it constantly surprises me on its performance. A-1 product.

Price: CAD$34.99

3. Esee 3 Kydex knife

Top quality knife with kydex handle and sheath. This thing is an all-around gem, when it comes to strength, durability, blade, handle, weight, size and shape. Its small but robust, light but strong and can be used for anything, making an excellent candidate for hunting or bushcraft. Not to mention, esee offers a lifetime, fully covered 100% guarantee, wherever and whenever. Fully worth the price you’ll pay.

4. UCO candle lantern

Lightweight, collapsible Candle Lantern. This little guy helps fight dampness

wherever you are and brightens up camp or the backyard. Ideal for backpacking, mountaineering, snow camping and other outdoor pursuits, this classic lantern provides cozy heat and natural light for up to 9 hours (per candle) and has regular, citronella or beeswax candles. It has a metal frame and a glass chimney. Slide the chimney down and light the exposed wick. As the candle burns, the spring-powered tube pushes the candle up for a reliable, constant flame. I use this all the time in order to shine some light, but mostly to remove moisture from my tent so I don’t have to slide into a damp sleeping bag. Compact, great price and worth its functionality.

Price: CAD$29.99
